At Covenant Community Church we want every child entering to know they are loved and valued as an individual and to know the love of Jesus Christ. We want to help every child to know that they have a special place in the household of God. We want to lead them into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and working with the parents, we want to help every child stand alone for Christ in their neighborhood and at school. Our children are an essential part of the Kingdom of God.
We present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our children on their level, bringing the Bible alive by using drama, and a variety of creative ways. We make it fun and exciting to learn about Jesus and His love.
INFANT & TODDLER NURSERY
We understand that having anyone watch your precious children can be very nerve racking for parents. It is always our goal to provide a safe and joyful experience for the parents and little ones. Below you will get an idea of what to expect when you arrive with children ages 0-4yrs.
Infants
(Newborn to 12months)
Our infant nursery is a peaceful space with the option of dimmed lighting so that infants may sleep in the pack and plays (sheets are changed each service). Nursing moms are welcomed and encouraged to feed their babies in this room or utilize the private nursing room across the hallway. It has access to the live stream service. Staff working in the infant nursery will ask questions regarding feeding and sleeping routines for your baby. Please bring a labeled diaper bag with diapers, wipes, feeding items and any comfort items. You can check in your infants up to 10 minutes prior to the Sunday service or anytime during the service.
Toddlers
(walkers-4yrs)
We focus on playtime and one interactive bible song or lesson each week. Our nursery is filled with age appropriate toys such as a play kitchen, ride on toys, building blocks, train sets, baby dolls, little people, dinosaurs and books. It's common for the children to have some separation anxiety at this age. Our volunteers completely understand when children cry, most of them can relate as parents themselves to young children. We will page you if your child has not calmed after 15min (or more/less at your request). During service we provide toddlers with goldfish snacks if permitted by the adult upon check in.
Parent Pager System:
We utilize a pager system that will alert the parent in the sanctuary if we need any assistance. You will be given your child's number at check in. We also have a video monitor of the toddler nursery in the church hallway for parents to utilize.
All nursery volunteers:
*Are trained in emergency first aid protocol.
*Have a deep commitment to follow God.
*Work with another volunteer.
*Are trained in child development to utilize appropriate toys, lessons & interaction.
*Clean and sanitize the toys after each service.
